Werner Schad began as an apprentice in the Medical Technology Field, Surgical Instruments in 1966. After his apprenticeship he worked for more than 20 years successfully at various worldwide known Surgical Instrument Companies. Werner Schad worked during this time in all main areas and achieved professional competence and profound knowledge of Surgical Instrument Manufacturing, as well as in Sales and Marketing. He dedicated his career to provide the highest quality products to the medical community.

On April 1st, 1988 he found, together with his wife Ingeborg, the Company SMI Schad Medical Instruments GmbH in the basement of their living house.

After appointing additional employees and extending the product lines it was necessary to move into a larger facility. In June 1995 the company moved to their new facility building Hegaustrasse 9 in Neuhausen ob Eck.

SMI Schad Medical Instruments GmbH profiled itself world wide as a very competent and innovative company in the field of surgical instruments and medical products.

In September 2016 Schad Medical Instruments was converted from GmbH into Gmbh & Co.KG. On 01.01.2017 Schad Medical Instruments GmbH & Co. KG was inherited by Florian Stritzel.
